Catfish Studio has been recording music for Chicago musicians for over a decade now and as we grow from year to year we retain our ideal that recording should always be an adventureous, freeing experience.

Aktar Aktar

Aktar Aktar is an all original rock band with a sound like a tightrope act of modern American/British rock swinging over a safety net of the classics. After headlining such venues as The Bottom Lounge, Lasalle Power Co, The Elbo Room, Beat Kitchen, and Subterranean Aktar Aktar started to move outside of the state of Illinois and branch out to the Midwest. With a unstoppable attitude and a passion to learn and grow Aktar Aktar will be around for a while.

Young Goldie

Young Goldie hails from the westside of Chicago and came up in the area music scene with the group Cermak Boys. While still involved with the group, he started a solo career in ‘08 and has since released 2 solo albums and a mixtape, as well as opening up for artists such as Scarface, Twista, and Freeway!

Yourself and the Air

The music that Chicago band Yourself and the Air makes seems to be of a time not in the all too distant past, made in the very same area of the country, maybe in the exact same neighborhood as the one they're making it in. It's of those years in the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s when there were not all that many more dynamic locations for indie kids than Champaign, Illinois, Milwaukee, Lawrence, Kansas, Madison, Wisconsin and the Windy City.

Trigger Fish

Trigger Fish isn't your typical garage band. Forming in the summer of 2009 and sporting influences such as Sublime, Nirvana, the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Pixies. Trigger Fish clearly shows where their roots are. Their songs can be described as a reformed version of the nineties. Pumped up and ready for revival!

Testimonials

I first heard Wes's work when Aktar Aktar released their album and I was blown away at how professional it sounded. Once I saw the studio in person I knew how professional it really was. Recording there was really fun! We sounded better than I ever imagined. With Wes producing and us playing, much work was accomplished in a short amount of time. Catfish is a Great Place for any style of music.

Dan
Catfish Slim

We have worked with Catfish Studio for the past three years and Wes has expanded from not just a producer and engineer but has become a vital member in our creative process. His consistent professionalism and creativity has pushed us to reach new peaks in our carer. We could not see ourselves where we are today without the help of Catfish Studio.

Aktar Aktar
The overall energy inside the Studio is surreal. I have been in and out for the past six years, and Catfish has grown into a fully decked out operation. I recommend any musician to try it out.
